Photoshop for ImproversPhotoshop for Improvers
Use Photoshop® to bring your shots to a whole new new plain

This Photoshop for Improvers Course is aimed at the more experienced user of Photoshop® and you must be familiar with the workings of Photoshop®. The type of student who will get the most out of this course is someone who is either a keen amateur or is someone who is aiming to produce professional prints for sale. It is not suitable for those new to image editing.

This course will bring you through the specific techniques needed to produce exhibition quality photos at almost any size. The key concept on this course will be "non-destructive editing". The great advantage of non-destructive editing in Photoshop® is that you can easily change image effects or adjustments weeks or months later without having to undo all the work done. It also allows quick editing and increased flexibility. Everyone who uses Photoshop® should know these techniques because they really make Photoshop® very powerful.

Non-destructive editing begins in the Camera when you shoot and save your images in RAW format. It then moves on to Adobe Camera RAW where you can use its many sliders and controls to best prepare the image final editing. Your image is then transformed through non-destructive masks and adjustment layers in Photoshop® were it comes out ready for printing at exhibition quality or for insertion into a top quality, glossy magazine.

High Resolution original source files will be supplied on CD to each student so you can work on the same photos that are in the notes and that the tutor is working on as well. We believe this aproach is a significant aid to learning what can be very complex techniques.

Photoshop® CS5® is the software used for the training and in the notes. Most of the techniques shown though will apply to Photoshop® CS4 and CS3 as well. Over 120 pages of detailed, full colour, illustrated handouts will be given to each student so that techniques learned on the course can be further refined outside of class time.
